Dacia Duster TCe 100 (2019) – With its small 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine displaying modestly 100 hp, this “first price” Duster is no dream. On paper at least . Especially when you know that this mini-block replaces the old 1.6 liter, a “big” 4-cylinder of 115 hp! Under the hood of the new Clio, which she had inaugurated, this little 3-cylinder appeared to us to be quite lymphatic. Helped here by a box with short reports, perfectly storied, and a reasonable weight for an SUV (barely 1,200 kg), it turns out to be very pleasant and above all relatively available at low speed thanks to an honorable torque of 160 mkg (thank you turbo and variable intake), higher than that of the old 1.6 liter, and offered at the relatively low speed of 2,750 rpm.In town and on the outskirts, this small block does the job perfectly , especially since the box order proves to be very pleasant, too. We can just blame him for a few small jerks of management on “takeoff” . On the road, as long as one is in charge, it should be whipped to get the quintessence , with in return an average consumption which can then approach 9 liters per 100 km . Still, in family driving, he gets away, again, with honors. And no risk of losing your license on the side of the road!

Very good suspension comfort…

What also appreciate a very good suspension comfort , perfectly served by tires with a relatively high profile (65), barely disturbed by a few pumping movements on large inequalities. Only criticism, too flat seats which prove a little tiring on long journeys due to their lack of maintenance, and soundproofing, which although very satisfactory on a daily basis, logically on the highway is not as successful as on the More upscale “competitors”. Not enough to undermine a behavior that remains very balanced , leaving only a few tiny loss of motor skills on wet pavement when the pace is too pressing. The fault lies with the M + S tires, delivered as standard, whose grip is less good than that of summer tires.
On the price side, do not look, this Duster is absolutely unbeatable . Available in two finishes, Access and Essential, its price starts at € 12,490 , without air conditioning, connectivity, adjustable seat and steering wheel, and with a bench seat whose backrest can only be folded down in one piece. To be entitled to this essential equipment, you must necessarily choose the Essential finish, billed at 14,750 €, which is unbeatable for this family SUV, with no real competitor . Knowing that the basic diesel version, 1.5 dCi 95, is billed, at a minimum, € 2,000 more, with equivalent finish. As for the options, they are offered at prices just as Dacia…

Let us repeat, this basic Duster, without any crippling defect, offers a quality-performance-price ratio that is totally unbeatable. You would have to be crazy to spend more!
